Don’t hesitate to ask for our kit with the extension so that your students can discover the answer to this question. We’d be happy to lend it to you. Please contact us at contact@esero.lu

How can light be captured most efficiently to detect the most distant galaxies?
How do you imitate a black hole in the classroom?

This resource and its associated kit, designed for elementary school, lets you compare different materials in experiments to find out which materials would be suitable for an astronomical satellite.

This kit lets you discover the surprising properties of materials that absorb almost all light, thanks to “superblack” technology developed by LIST, as well as the exceptional reflectivity of gold.

Pedagogical objectives

  • Materials are grouped and compared according to their light-reflecting properties.

Students will improve various skills

  • Plan experiments and understand how to use different variables to answer questions.
  • Taking light measurements.
  • Record and communicate data and results in a scientific manner
  • Present experimental results in oral and written form
